Hi! I’m glad you’re here.
Somehow, the world continues to turn and the holidays are approaching. My goal, as always, is to find ways to uplift disabled people and harness some joy among the chaos. Can you believe the holiday season is here already?! So, it’s once again time for my favorite holiday tradition: putting out the annual Disability Holiday Gift Guide along with my friend Kate Caldwell, a nationally recognized consultant on disability entrepreneurship. I started doing this in 2014, and somehow it’s been 10 years since then? I won’t get all existential on you, but it’s hard to believe how easily time passes.
Anyway, now for the fun part! In this guide, you’ll find both cute and practical items from disabled entrepreneurs, some books by disabled writers, and a few disability-led organizations to support. Sending good, hopeful vibes your way for a festive holiday season.
Drum roll, please…The Original Disability Holiday Gift Guide 2024!

Click here for the full festive infographic. To ensure accessibility, I’ve got you covered with an image description: A list of disabled-owned businesses, books by disabled authors, and disability-led organizations is spread out over three slides. The first two slides, which feature the businesses, have a gingerbread and holly theme, with a brown, red, and green color palette. Cute gingerbread cookies are scattered in the border. On the first slide, text is in red and green with a brown banner below that says “The Original Disability Holiday Gift Guide 2024 by Emily Ladau & Kate Caldwell. Check out Gift Guides from past years below!” Under the text, gift guides from 2016-2023 are linked on images of little cakes with holly. The third slide features the authors and the organizations on a dark green background with an art-deco vibe, including ornaments. The business listings each include a small thumbnail image of an item from the shop. The book covers are next to each title, and the organization logos are next to each organization’s name.
